Tyler Johnson had a goal and two assists to lift Colorado College to a 5-4 win over Michigan State in a semifinal game of the 46th annual Great Lakes Invitational at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit on Wednesday.

Stephen Schultz added a goal and an assist; Dakota Eveland, Andrew Hamburg, Jeff Collett also scored for Colorado College. Joe Howe made 31 saves.

The Tigers (12-8-1) face Michigan, which defeated Michigan Tech 4-2 in the other semifinal, in tonight’s championship game.

Lee Reimer had a goal and two assists, and Dustin Gazley a goal and an assist for Michigan State (6-10-3).

Cougars add softball.

Colorado Christian announced it will add softball as a varsity sport, to start in the spring of 2012.

Athletic director Darren Richie will lead the search for a coach. CC students interested in playing should e-mail Richie at drichie@ccu.edu. The school anticipated playing games at either local high schools or the Lakewood Park fields, less than a mile from the Lakewood campus and currently the home of CC’s men’s and women’s tennis programs.
