Detroit Lions linebacker Caleb Campbell passed up the opportunity to attend the NFLPA’s party a few days before the Super Bowl in Arlington, Texas, to spend it with American troops. “The NFL (also) asked if I’d like to go to Kosovo to make a couple of appearances, hang out with soldiers and watch the Super Bowl with them,” Campbell said. “It’s a way to give back.” Playing football for the first time since the 2007 Army-Navy game, the West Point graduate has played in two games and spent the rest of the season on the Lions’ practice squad. Detroit drafted Campbell in 2008 after the Army gave him its OK, but he was required to serve at least two years on active duty.
