FORT COLLINS — A 20-year-old woman was trying to flag down a car when she tripped and was struck by an SUV early Saturday. Ashlee Whitaker, 20, of Aurora was in serious condition at a Fort Collins hospital following the 12:12 a.m. accident at Elizabeth Street and Ponderosa Drive, according to Fort Collins police.
Marcus Kehmeier, 20, was driving an Isuzu SUV east on Elizabeth when Whitaker stepped onto the south side of the street and was trying to motion to him when she tripped onto the street and was run over.
Whitaker was taken to Medical Center of the Rockies.
