DENVER—A Phoenix truck driver accused of a carjacking and other crimes in northern Colorado has been charged with 32 counts, including attempted first-degree murder of a police officer.
The Weld County district attorney’s office says 47-year-old Scott Walker was also charged Monday with several counts of burglary, attempted aggravated robbery and menacing.
He is being held on $2 million bond and is due in court Jan. 20.
Walker was arrested Dec. 28 at a Greeley-area home where authorities say he smashed through a gate with a stolen cable TV truck and burst into the house. Police say Walker abandoned his semitrailer in Greeley and stole the truck at gunpoint.
He is accused of firing at a sheriff’s deputy before surrendering.
