Erie Town Administrator Mike Acimovic has resigned.
Reading from a statement at the opening of the board of trustees meeting Tuesday, Acimovic listed the achievements of the town during his eight years in the job and thanked the trustees and town employees. He gave no reason for quitting.
Several trustees said they did not know Acimovic would resign until a few hours before the meeting and felt “blindsided.”
Trustee Mark Gruber said four trustees made a decision on their own to force the resignation without consulting other trustees.
“Not only is there is no transparency with the citizens of Erie, there is no transparency with the trustees,” said Trustee Cheryl Hauger, who tried in vain to move the discussion into a private executive session.
