CHICAGO — Jurors have convicted a man in the fatal beating of a high school honors student who walked into a Chicago street brawl on his way home from school. The Cook County jury spent about three hours deliberating Tuesday night before finding 20-year-old Silvonus Shannon guilty of first degree-murder in the death of 16-year-old Derrion Albert. Shannon could face up to 60 years in prison when sentenced.
