ROCKY MOUNTAIN AGRIBUSINESS ASSOCIATION: Honored outgoing Colorado Agriculture Commissioner John Stulp with the special-recognition award during its annual trade show and convention. Stulp, a Prowers County rancher and farmer, has served as commissioner since 2006. Gov. John Hickenlooper recently named Stulp his adviser on water, and he’ll also become chairman of the Colorado Water Conservation Board.

UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO AT BOULDER: Announced that two faculty members have been elected 2010 fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. The new fellows are professor William “Ned” Friedman of the ecology and evolutionary-biology department and professor Veronica Bierbaum of the chemistry and biochemistry department.
AMERICAN ACADEMY OF PEDIATRICS: Honored Dr. Nancy Krebs with the 2010 Samuel J. Fomon Nutrition Award. Krebs is medical director of clinical nutrition services at Children’s Hospital and professor of pediatrics and section head of nutrition in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
DENVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT: Hired Alicia Avila as a business liaison.
DEFENSE RESEARCH INSTITUTE: Named Amy Miletich vice chair of its employment law committee. She is a co- founder of Denver-based Miletich Pearl LLC.
