Kevin Lauritsen, 50, was taken away in handcuffs as his wife looked on grimly and his 17-month-old son cried. He could have been sentenced to a maximum of six years behind bars for his felony crime of conspiracy to commit securities fraud.
Lauritsen’s sentence, which includes five years of probation, followed impassioned pleas to the court from his victims not to grant the Texas man leniency given the severe losses they incurred by investing their money with him and two other co-defendants who had gained their trust as fellow congregants at City on the Hill Church in Boulder.
