GREELEY, Colo.—Elliott Lloyd scored 11 points and Northern Colorado dealt Idaho State its 19th consecutive road loss, winning 57-37 on Thursday night.

Devon Beitzel added 10 points for Northern Colorado (9-7, 5-0 Big Sky). The Bears are off to their first 5-0 start in the Big Sky in their five years in the conference.

Kenny McGowen had 12 points for Idaho State (5-11, 1-3). Leading scorer Broderick Gilchrest went scoreless and was held out of the second half with a sprained right ankle.

The Bengals haven’t won on the road since Nov. 28, 2009, and are 0-9 on the road this season.

Gilchrest played 13 minutes and missed all four of his shots in the first half while Beitzel had 10 points. The Bears used runs of 11-0 and 13-4 to take a 34-17 lead into halftime, cashing in Idaho State’s slow start, 2-for-6 shooting and four turnovers to go up 15-5 after Emmanuel Addo’s layup.

Idaho State got a runner from McGowen that made it 17-8 before Northern Colorado went on a 13-4 run that included a 3-pointer by Tate Unruh. Addo beat the buzzer with a 3-pointer to extend the margin to 17.

Northern Colorado pulled ahead 40-19 after baskets by Neal Kingman and Lloyd early in the second half. Idaho State’s defense held the Bears scoreless for nearly six minutes, and the Bengals pulled within 40-24 on a 3-pointer by McGowen. Paul Garnica made it 45-24 with a 3-pointer, and Idaho State was never closer than 17 points over the final 10:15.

The 37 points were a season low for Idaho State, which shot a season-worst 25 percent from the field.
