Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart go down the “Rabbit Hole” in this accolade-rich film about a couple struggling mightily to hang on in the aftermath of their son’s death. PG-13.
Broken hearts club
Cutting forward and backward in time, “Blue Valentine” chronicles a contemporary marriage and love story from beginning to end. In this case, love may be beautiful but it isn’t always pretty. Originally earning an NC-17 rating, the film has now garnered a more crowd-friendly R.

Leaders of the pack
À la “Lady and The Tramp,” “Alpha And Omega,” also on DVD, is a 3-D animated tale of two young wolves from different ends of the wolf-pack’s social-spectrum.
