DENVER—Gov. John Hickenlooper has ended a four-day statewide tour to get ideas for boosting business in Colorado—and preserving enterprise zones was a common theme.

The Denver Post reports that several people at public meetings that started Friday said tax credits available in state-designated enterprise zones are important economic development tools.

Legislators scaled back the tax credits last year and there’s concern the credits will be further restricted this year.

Hickenlooper is asking local governments about their economic priorities and strategies to develop a statewide economic development plan.
