Getting your player ready...

DENVER—The Colorado Avalanche have sent forward T.J. Galiardi to Lake Erie of the American Hockey League to help bolster his confidence.

Galiardi has struggled since coming back from a broken right wrist that sidelined him for more than a month. He’s scored no goals in his last eight games.

The move was somewhat surprising since Galiardi is one of the youngsters the Avs are banking on to lead their resurgence. Avs coach Joe Sacco says the team hasn’t “given up” on Galiardi and he’s a player they’re “counting on in the future.”

To fill Galiardi’s spot, Colorado recalled Ryan Stoa, who had 15 goals in 44 games for Lake Erie.

Defenseman Kyle Cumiskey will return to the lineup Thursday night against Nashville after being out with a concussion since Oct. 30.
