Winterfest isn’t your typical large-scale Colorado jam-band festival. The homegrown three-day event will take place this weekend in scenic Nederland, home to the popular Nedfest and Miner’s Days. Music gets rolling in the late afternoon. Performer highlights include Cornmeal, a rootsy five-piece from Chicago, along with similar “jamgrass” act Mountain Standard Time. The weekend’s headliner is jazz piano prodigy Marco Benevento, who will bring his offbeat stylings and rarely seen trio to close out the festival Sunday evening. Benevento is best known for his work with drummer Joe Russo. Single-day tickets start at $35, and a three-day pass runs $109. Visit for more info.
This weekend, The Post’s revamped music site Reverb () presents noise-pop duo Crocodiles at the Larimer Lounge. You may hear elements of the Jesus and Mary Chain or the more contemporary No Age in the fuzzy sound. Frontman Brandon Welchez’s vocals are unmistakably ’80s — airy, punky and drenched with reverb. Local bands Overcasters and Hearts In Space will open the show. Tickets, $10-$12, are available through
