Meaningful basketball games along the Front Range? Who knew?

While the Colorado men have played some stellar Big 12 games this season and given fans reason to believe, now Colorado State gets a chance to join the fray when No. 9 BYU and Jimmer Fredette visit Moby Arena on Saturday. And CSU officials are expecting their biggest crowd in eight years.

Coming off a quality win Wednesday at UNLV, the Rams (13-5) are third in the Mountain West behind BYU and undefeated San Diego State.

Fredette, the highest-scoring player in the country (25.8 ppg), has put on a show this season for BYU (18-1).

On Thursday, CSU officials said fewer than 1,000 tickets remained for the 7 p.m. game. The last sellout (8,745) at Moby Arena? Jan. 25, 2003, against Border War rival Wyoming.
