PHOENIX—Gov. Jan Brewer has announced some changes in her administration staff including the appointment of a new spokesman.

Brewer said Friday that Matthew Benson is now her director of communications. He replaces Paul Senseman, who is returning to a Phoenix public affairs firm.

Benson formerly was a former political reporter at The Arizona Republic and Fort Collins Coloradoan.

Brewer also announced that Scott Hunt is the new state forester and Leisa Brug has been named policy adviser to the governor for energy and director of the Arizona Commerce Authority’s Energy Office. Thomas Adkins will now serve as a policy adviser to the Brewer.

Three members of the Governor’s Office of Economic Recovery—Matthew Hanson, James Apperson and Aaron Sandeen—will get new roles within the administration.
