DENVER—Snow is slowing down traffic in Colorado’s mountains.
Eastbound traffic was moving again but going slowly at the Eisenhower Tunnel on Interstate 70 on Friday.
Avalanche control at the tunnel had triggered traffic jams earlier in the day.
U.S. Highway 6 over Loveland Pass was closed because of snow, forcing hazardous materials trucks to use the Eisenhower Tunnel instead.
Crews were also cleaning up a previous slide on Loveland Pass and working to prevent new ones. A slide on Thursday trapped several vehicles.
