A man was charged with first-degree murder today in the death of a 67-year-old Brighton man.

Evan Michael Lawlor, 25, of Brighton, has been charged with first-degree murder in the death last week of George Lindeboom, according to a press release from the Adams County District Attorney’s Office.

Lindenboom was found dead in his home by a neighbor on Jan. 12. The Adam’s County Coroner’s Office said Lindeboom died of blunt-force trauma to the neck.

Brighton resident Jacob Schlitt, 18, was also arrested in connection with the murder, but has since been released.

Lawlor’s court date has been set for Monday at the Adams County Justice Center. He was also charged with robbery of an at-risk victim, theft and tampering with physical evidence. All are felonies.
