I’m motivated by a great cause: Tri for the Cure and Race for the Cure. As long as I can, I’ll participate and raise money. This is the week of my 60th birthday. I started exercising when I retired at age 53 after working nights for 28 of 30 years. I needed something to do during the day now that I wasn’t sleeping. I train eight to 10 weeks before the race; swim two days, bike two days and run two days with one day off. This year, I’m doing a TRI for the Cure in Arizona in March, so I have begun training. Winter training is harder since it’s mostly done at the rec center, but the cause is worth it to me.
