SYDNEY — Singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett left the hospital this morning, a day after he was knocked unconscious after falling from a stage at the end of a concert here, Australian television reported.

Buffett left St. Vincent’s Hospital via a back entrance to avoid the media after doctors gave him the all-clear, Ten Network television reported.

Medical staff said the performer had suffered a head injury but added he was in good spirits and lucky to have recovered so quickly from Wednesday night’s fall at Hordern Pavilion.

“He really took a very nasty tumble,” hospital emergency-department director Gordian Fulde, who attended the concert, told Seven Network television. “He just didn’t see the drop in front of the stage.” The Associated Press
