Ice-skating procrastinators take heed: This is the last weekend to skate at the outdoor ice rink in downtown Denver.

The Southwest Rink at Skyline Park, which has rented out more than 26,300 pairs of skates this season since opening in November, will close on Sunday.

“This rink created an incredible buzz of activity and excitement right in the heart of our city,” said Tami Door, President & CEO of the Downtown Denver Partnership in a media release.

The rink is located on Arapahoe Street just off the 16th Street Mall.

Special closing events are scheduled for the popular rink this weekend, including live music, a dance party with a DJ, and food discounts and deals with nearby vendors and restaurants.

There’s no charge for ice time, and the rink rents skates for $2 a pair.

The rink plans to go out with a bang, promising a special guest band from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday.

More information on the rink, which is sponsored by Southwest Airline, can be found on the web at .
