LOVELAND, Colo.—A disabled Army veteran of the Iraq war is accused of molesting a teenage girl.

Forty-year-old Dennis Herbst of Loveland is due in court Monday on three felony charges of sexual abuse of a child. He is free on $25,000 bond. His phone number is unlisted, and it isn’t known if he has a lawyer who can comment for him.

In a 2008 interview, Herbst said he dealt with post-traumatic stress disorder after his service in Iraq.

The Loveland Reporter-Herald reports that in October, a local credit union chose Herbst from six finalists to receive a “home makeover.” Volunteers from a local credit union and California-based United We Paint spent $20,000 and a day fixing up his home and yard.
