Coors Banquet’s “yellow belly” beer cans are getting a new look for the next two months. Coors released four commemorative can designs Tuesday that will be available nationwide through March.
Each design highlights part of the beer’s history.
In 1959, Coors introduced the first aluminum can in the United States, which became known as the “yellow belly” can.
The four commemorative designs each will highlight an era-specific piece of the history of Coors Banquet, ranging from 1880 — the decade it was introduced — to 1959.
Every can also includes a story highlighting the brand’s past.
Coors is inviting fans to go to coorsbanquet to share their Coors Banquet stories for the chance to appear on the brand’s site. The Denver Post
