LARAMIE — Jimmer Fredette scored 26 points despite hitting only 7-of-21 shots, and Brandon Davies added 20 as No. 8 Brigham Young beat Wyoming 69-62 on Wednesday night.

After the Cowboys (8-14, 1-7 Mountain West) closed to 64-62 on two free throws by Djibril Thiam with 29 seconds left, Davies converted a three-point play 12 seconds later before Fredette finished off the scoring with two free throws.

Oklahoma State 76, No. 14 Missouri 70

STILLWATER, Okla. — Matt Pressey’s 3 cut the Tigers’ deficit to 73-70 in the final minute, but Olukemi Jean-Paul scored the final two of his 19 points from the free-throw line for the final margin as the Cowboys (15-7, 3-5 Big 12) ended a three-game slide.

HARTFORD, Conn. — The Orange (19-4, 6-4 Big East) avoided the first five-game losing streak in coach Jim Boeheim’s 35 seasons in a game that featured the most wins in Division I between two coaches.

Boeheim came in with 847, seven more than Jim Calhoun. The 1,687 total bettered the mark of 1,665 set by Texas Tech’s Bob Knight and Oklahoma State’s Eddie Sutton on Feb. 25, 2006.

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Despite a career-high 22 points from Brittany Wilson, the Buffaloes (11-10, 2-6 Big 12) dropped their third straight game to the Jayhawks (15-7, 2-6), who shot 62 percent (31-of-50) from the field.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — An eight- minute scoring drought in the second half doomed the Pioneers (13-9, 5-4 Sun Belt), who held a one-point lead at halftime.

BYU 73, Wyoming 48

PROVO, Utah — The Cougars (15-7, 7-1) took over the top spot in the Mountain West Conference with a 21-9 run to start the second half that turned a six-point halftime advantage into a 49-31 lead.
