A Fort Morgan Republican on Wednesday killed his own measure that diverted money for mass transit to counties so locals could decide how to spend transportation funding.
State Rep. Jon Becker said he didn’t have the support for the measure, which was opposed by various groups including, to his chagrin, Colorado Counties Inc.
“I am angry,” said Becker, who took office in January. “Our county roads are in bad shape, and I thought this would help free up some money to fix them.”
House Bill 1075 would have diverted money from FASTER — which increased auto-registration fees — to counties for a decade.
