The Denver Film Society expands the brand Women + Film with its first Voices Film Festival (March 8 – 13). Timed to 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day, the 13-film, six-day event will be mix of documentaries and narrative features. Among the films confirmed: fresh from Sundance documentaries Lynn Hershman Leeson’s “!Women Art Revolution” on the Feminist Art Movement and Jennifer Siebel Newsom’s “Mis Representation,” about the way the media continue to churn out damaging images of women. The festival closes with “Jane Eyre.”
