A Fort Collins police officer was injured this morning after his patrol vehicle, a Dodge Durango, ran over a broken metal post with fencing attached left in the roadway.
The fencing wrapped around the SUV’s axle and caused it to go off the right side of the road and down a 30-foot embankment, police said. The SUV did not roll, however.
Officer Dennis Lindvay had non-life-threatening injuries, police said this afternoon. The accident happened just before 10 a.m. in the the 4600 block of south Taft Hill Road.
