The Adams County Sheriff’s Office is fighting graffiti via the web, adding a graffiti-reporting option to its website, .
“Graffiti negatively affects an area visually and encourages other criminal behavior,” the department said in a media release. “Graffiti must be dealt with promptly in order to preserve the safety of a neighborhood.”
The online reporting system is part of the county’s aggressive graffiti removal program, which began in 2009. The program helps residents of unincorporated areas remove graffiti from private property at no cost.
To find the link, visit the department’s website and click on “Graffiti Removal” under “Serving our Communities” on the left side of the page.
County residents can access the “Authorization to Enter and Remove Wavier” link on the site, allowing county crews to go onto private property to remove graffiti.
Residents can still report graffiti by calling 720-322-1145 or 303-88-1535. Anyone witnessing a tagger can summon deputies by calling 911.
