Getting your player ready...

Height: 6-feet.

Weight: 171 pounds.

Age: 17. Born: March 15, 1993, in Montrose.

High school sports: Football (running back and linebacker, 2010 Class 2A championship game MVP and player of the year by The Denver Post) and wrestling (defending 3A champion at 152 pounds; third at 152 in 2009; didn’t place at 130 as a freshman; 151-17 career record).

Grade-point average: 3.29.

Class: Senior.

My favorite subject: American polls 101.

My favorite athlete: Champ Bailey.

My favorite team: Oregon Ducks football.

What I listen to: Country, hip-hop and rap.

The best things on my training table: Chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes.

Prematch ritual: For wrestling, I have to wear the same knee pad and I can’t retape the head gear; for football, I have to have the same gloves and cleats.

Time management tip: For practice, it goes to about 6 p.m., and for wrestling practice it’s about an hour and a half more, then I go home to get homework done. I always leave an hour before I sleep so I can hang out with family.

Planned career: Sports medicine or business management; considering CSU-Pueblo, Mesa State, Western State and Northern Colorado.

My family: Parents David and Julie and brothers Travis, Kirk and Trent.

I would love to visit: Hawaii.

What high school sports mean to me: I love high school sports, competing with friends and being around the coaches. It has helped me. Life’s not fair, but you have to deal with it and it’s what you work for.
