VENTURA, Calif. — A Secret Service agent assigned to protect Nancy Reagan is recovering after accidentally shooting himself in the hip at a sheriff’s department shooting range.
Ventura County sheriff’s spokesman Capt. Mike Aranda says the gun went off as the agent was putting it back in its holster Friday in Camarillo. The agent was hospitalized with an injury to his hip. His name was not released.
