GREELEY, Colo.—An oil rig worker whose face was badly burned in an explosion has filed a lawsuit against a trucking company claiming one of its drivers was responsible for the accident.

Twenty-eight-year-old Derrek Majors says in the lawsuit that a driver from Foster Trucking drove his truck into the oil well site in west Greeley despite directions to stop on Jan. 14, 2009. The lawsuit claims the driver left the truck running at the well site and ignited the natural gas explosion.

Majors and another worker were burned.

Foster Trucking owner and CEO Don Foster says it was Majors who was responsible for the fire and that witnesses saw him turn on the pickup truck next to the wellhead.

The Greeley Tribune reported Friday that Majors filed his lawsuit in Weld County District Court.
