DENVER—Investigators say two vehicles collided on a highway in Jefferson County, killing two people and injuring three others.

The Denver Post the crash happened Saturday afternoon at Colorado 93 and 72, and may have been caused by weather.

The Colorado State Patrol says a Nissan was northbound on Colorado 93 when its driver lost control and spun into oncoming traffic. A southbound Chevy Equinox hit the Nissan on the passenger side.

The driver and a passenger in the Nissan were killed. Another passenger in the Nissan is in the hospital with unknown injuries.

Two occupants of the Equinox are were hospitalized. They had serious injuries.

Names were withheld pending notification of family, and troopers wouldn’t say if any of the victims were children.
