NORTHGLENN — A pet-store owner says a child acted as the accomplice to two adults who were stealing puppies from her store.
“To have a little kid do it, that’s just wrong,” said Sandy McDonald, the store owner of Puppies ‘N Stuff in Northglenn.
She shared surveillance video with 9News capturing the theft in a span of 10 minutes.
“The dad’s there, holding the Jack Russell. The daughter and the mom are right there. The three of them are together,” she said.
McDonald believes the man in the video goes to divert a store employee so the girl can make her move.
“She’s getting her coat unzipped and ready there. The little girl’s putting the Chihuahua in her coat right there,” McDonald said.
The video then shows the man and the girl walking out with two puppies.
