“I’m going to pajama up around 5,” said Nick Bode, co-owner of Rooster & Moon Coffee Pub on Bannock. He was discussing plans for Friday’s PJ Crawl.
Last week, Bodie called out trivia questions to a pajama-clad contingent of the cafe’s weekly “Geeks Who Drink” gathering. It was dry run for the annual event that raises money for Road Home, former Mayor John Hickenlooper’s 10-year plan to end homelessness.
The morning before the big event, Bodie — as he’s known to the customers he makes feel like friends — looked uncharacteristically drowsy as he worked the steam of the gleaming espresso machine.
“I love pajamas. I have a bunch of flannel bottoms with pockets,” he said. “The problem with the pj’s I bought? No pockets. I’m not okay with that. What do you expect from a $10 pair from Ross?”
Friday night is likely to be chilly. Maybe there’s something poetically just in braving a cold Road Home wants to protect all Denver citizens from.
Crawlers have three neighborhoods to choose from Friday night: Highlands, Cherry Creek North and the Golden Triangle. Rooster & Moon is the one of the jumping off points for the Golden Triangle. 6 – 10 p.m. $20. Go to for more information.
