A rock slide in Fremont County about a mile west of the community of Cotopaxi has closed U.S. Highway 50 until tomorrow, the Colorado Department of Transportation said this afternoon.
No injuries or damage to vehicles resulted from the slide at about 4:30 p.m. today, CDOT said. The slide is about midway between Cañon City and Salida.
CDOT recommended alternate routes, including Colorado Highway 9, U.S. Highway 24 and U.S. Highway 285.
