The U.S. may plant 3.3 percent more corn in 2011 than they did last year and sow 0.3 percent fewer soybeans acres, according to a survey of farmers in six states by the crop-insurance company AgriSource Inc.

Growers said they may boost corn planting to 91.1 million acres from 88.192 million in 2010, while reducing soybeans to 77.2 million acres from 77.404 million last year, Keith Gehling, an AgriSource marketing consultant, said today.
