The so-called Sparky Bandit’s spree of bank robberies has fizzled out, say authorities who today charged Nick Beram with five counts of aggravated robbery.
Armed with a stun gun and a knife, Beram, 47, allegedly robbed five Colorado banks between November 2010 and February until he was apprehended last week.
Denver police officers spotted Beram’s silver Toyota pickup during a routine patrol and found him hiding in the closet of a home close to the targeted banks.
In addition to the five Class 3 felonies, Beram also faces six counts of robbery, four counts of kidnapping, four counts of theft and two counts of felony menacing.
He appears in court Thursday to be formally advised of the charges. Beram remains in custody. His bond is set at $150,000.
