Conor Casey scored twice and former Metro State star Steven Emory added a goal and an assist Wednesday as the reigning MLS champion Rapids finished a three-game Arizona preseason schedule with a 4-2 victory over the Los Angeles Galaxy in Phoenix.

Casey scored in the 19th and 27th minutes to put the Rapids up 2-0. Landon Donovan answered for the Galaxy with a penalty kick goal after halftime and Adam Cristman’s goal in the 64th minute tied the game.

Caleb Folan, a veteran of the English Premier League, scored for Colorado in the 76th minute.

Emory, who is trying to make Colorado’s roster in training camp, scored unassisted in the 79th minute to put the Rapids out of the Galaxy’s reach.

The Rapids went 2-0-1 in Arizona. They return to Denver today and have preseason games at San Jose on March 4 and against Seattle on March 9.
