Teachers in the Denver Public Schools will receive new laptops as a result of savings from the 2008 voter-approved bond program.
With the savings, DPS can cover 70 percent of the cost of laptops for all district teachers, who can use them to access student data as well as to research and plan lessons. Individual schools will cover the remaing cost.
DPS estimates it will buy 5,700 laptops over the course of the three-year project. All teachers should have their new equipment by November 2012. Schools can choose between Dell and Apple models.
