Borders Group Inc. has hired New York-based DJM Realty to dispose of about 200 stores to be closed as part of the bookseller’s bankruptcy filing on Wednesday.

Six sites in Colorado are among what Borders officials have called “underperforming” stores and will be shuttered.

Borders is seeking Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection to restructure its operations and debt will continue. Its stores will remain open for business during the process and loyalty and gift cards will be honored.

Leases on stores available for disposition include: Arapahoe Crossing, 6606 S. Parker Road, Aurora; Twenty Ninth Street, 1750 29th St., Boulder; Dillon Ridge Marketplace, 264 Dillon Ridge Way, Dillon; Elk Lakes, 2863 35th Ave., Greeley; Grand Mesa Center, U.S. highways 6 and 50, Grand Junction, and Southwest Plaza, 8501 W. Bowles Ave., Littleton.

DJM Realty has handled bankruptcy clients such as Blockbuster, Circuit City, Linens N Things, KB Toys and Kmart.
