A man was airlifted to the hospital last night after he crashed his car into a tree near Longmont.

Just before 12:30 a.m., Sean Hunt, 32, was driving on Colorado 66 when his car veered off the south side of the road near Gay Street, according to Trooper Nate Reid, spokesman for the Colorado State Patrol.

The car, a 4-door 1997 black Honda, traveled 15 feet off the road before colliding with the tree.

Hunt was flown to the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland with moderate to serious injuries, Reid said.

Hunt has been cited with a DUI. His condition was not immediately known.
