The launch of a rocket carrying a University of Colorado instrument and mini-satellite has been set for no earlier than this morning. Engineers from NASA and Orbital Sciences continue to troubleshoot a technical issue.

The CU instrument aims to study changes in the sun’s brightness and impact on Earth’s climate. Students in the Colorado Space Grant Consortium built the mini-satellite.

Sen. Michael Bennet toured the consortium’s Boulder headquarters Thursday to highlight how the program brings together public and private sectors to help give students skills they need to compete in the 21st century economy.
