Getting your player ready...

At first glance, The Pawplunger looks like an oversize coffee mug. But fill it with water, dunk your dog’s paw into the opening in the lid, and internal bristles scrub away mud, ice-melting chemicals or fertilizer as you move the “mug” and paw around a bit. Then just towel paws dry. Or use the optional “Baggel,” a highly absorbent drawstring bag that can be used to dry paws and then transport the Pawplunger. No, this isn’t rocket science, but if you’ve ever tried to clean the paws of a resistant dog who has just come in from the muck, you know how inefficient a simple towel can be. Of course, your dog may bristle at having to endure four paw plunges, but who’s the alpha here? (Try it anyway.) Great gadget to keep in the car trunk.

Pawplunger in three sizes, $24.99-$34.99; Baggel, $9.99-$12.99;
