The Class 1A boys and girls basketball tournaments set for March 10-12 at the University of Northern Colorado’s Butler-Hancock Sports Pavilion have been moved to Colorado School of Mines . . . for now.
The move was made because the UNC women are likely to host the Big Sky Conference Tournament on those dates by virtue of winning the league.
The same thing could happen at Mines. If the Orediggers get the No. 1 seed in the men’s NCAA Division II Central Region, they would host the regional tournament. They are second now.
If Mines hosts, the 1A tournament would move to Boulder, with a revised tournament schedule starting Wednesday, March 9. Jon E. Yunt, The Denver Post
