COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Dozens of tow truck drivers traveled from around Colorado to honor a man killed last week while trying to tow an SUV that took off.

More than 100 tow trucks were parked outside the funeral Tuesday for 35-year-old Allen Rose in Colorado Springs.

Rose was preparing to tow away an illegally parked SUV last week when the vehicle’s owner allegedly drove away. Investigators say Rose tried to chase the SUV but got tangled in a dangling tow cable and was dragged for more than a mile.

Prosecutors haven’t decided yet on possible charges for the SUV driver, 32-year-old Detra Farries. She’s due in court for an advisement hearing on Wednesday. Her relatives have said she wasn’t aware someone was being dragged.

Rose is survived by his wife and two children.
