Defense Secretary Robert Gates is visiting the Air Force Academy to address the cadets.
Academy officials say Gates will also teach some classes during his visit Friday.
Gates, who has said he will leave office this year, visited West Point last week.
He told West Point cadets the Army must prepare itself for complex future threats, including terrorists, rogue nations and the modern militaries being assembled in Russia and China.
This will be Gates’ third visit to the Air Force Academy outside Colorado Springs. He addressed the graduating class in 2007 and spoke to the students last April.
