Today. The Mordecai Children’s Garden at the Denver Botanic Gardens reopens at 9 a.m. This $4 million, 3-acre garden is designed with kids in mind and meant to connect them with plants and nature — their own garden to explore and discover with special attention paid to Colorado ecosystems. It is located across the street from the gardens’ main entrance and can be accessed through the Welcome Pavilion at the top of the parking structure. 1007 York St. Regular admission prices apply; kids 3 and younger are admitted free. The nature of a state park
Today. Every Saturday this month, Cherry Creek State Park’s rangers and volunteer naturalists lead family-friendly nature programs at the park’s campground amphitheater. Each program will address a different topic related to the park’s unique wildlife and ecosystem. The 19th annual All About Kids Expo, sponsored by Radio Disney, Disney Channel and Disney Junior, is happening at the Colorado Convention Center. The weekend kicks off with a tween-focused day of entertainment, including a question-and-answer session with Bella Thorne and Zendaya, stars of the hit Disney Channel series “Shake It Up,” and a performance by Next Big Thing artist Coco Jones. The event, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday also includes a climbing wall, petting zoo, pony rides, obstacle course, train rides, face painting and “nonstop stage entertainment.” Admission is $10.
