GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—A woman who authorities said let her young son have contact with a girl after he was convicted of sex-assault charges has reached a plea agreement that includes no jail time.
Debra Pankey of Grand Junction pleaded guilty Thursday to a felony count of attempted contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The Daily Sentinel reports the 53-year-old’s plea agreement calls for a sentence of probation.
An arrest warrant affidavit says Pankey’s son pleaded guilty in January 2010 to sex-assault charges relating to a child victim. He was 12 at the time.
Prosecutors say that though Pankey was served with a protection order barring her son from having contact with minors, she drove her son to a girl’s home last summer. Authorities have alleged he sexually assaulted the girl.
