DENVER—The injury-riddled Colorado Avalanche will have captain Adam Foote back on the ice against the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday night.
The veteran defenseman has missed the last 11 games with a leg injury.
However, the team will be without forward Ryan Stoa for at least two weeks after he recently underwent an appendectomy.
Stoa has spent most of the season with Lake Erie of the American Hockey League. He was recalled Feb. 18 for a second time in 2010-11. Stoa has two goals in 12 games.
The Avalanche remain one of the most banged-up teams in the league this season, losing 329 man-games to injuries. Coach Joe Sacco says the assortment of ailments has been “tough sometimes.”
Colorado is mired in a slump, going 1-12-2 over its last 15 games.
