City Councilwoman Carol Boigon announced today that she has qualified for the May 3 mayoral ballot.

She is the fifth candidate to have the required number of signatures certified.

Chris Romer, Theresa Spahn, James Mejia and Michael Hancock were previously approved for the ballot.

“It’s a very exciting day for me, my family and all of my supporters,” Boigon said in a news release.

“Together we will be reaching out to every neighborhood across the city to let them know I mean business when it comes to creating jobs and leading Denver into a better tomorrow.”

Candidates for mayor are required to submit 300 petition signatures to be placed on the ballot. Mail-in ballot will be sent to voters April 15. The last day to register to vote in this election is April 4.
