The family of Randy Stollsteimerwho was killed along with his wife and three sons in a car accident on Feb. 17 — held a small news conference Saturday to thank the community for all the support they’ve received in the weeks since the accident.

“We want to thank all of the wonderful people for their prayers and thoughts and contributions,” said Chris Stoll steimer, Randy Stollsteimer’s father.

“It’s wonderful to know that there are so many good people to help us through this tragedy. I just wanted to thank them all from the bottom of our hearts and say ‘God bless you all.’ “

Randy and Crystaldawn and their three boys, Sebastian, 12, Darrian, 9, and Cyrus, 6, were killed when the truck they were in was hit by an SUV in Thornton.

Nearly 1,000 people attended the family’s memorial service on Feb. 26 to show their support.

For funeral expenses

The community has organized a carwash to help the family pay for funeral expenses, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Xtreme Clean Car Wash in Thornton, 84th Avenue and Grant Street.

Contributions to help offset funeral costs can be sent to the Stollsteimer Forever Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 17000, Denver, CO 80217-7000; or can be dropped off at any Bellco Credit Union.
